Baidu and China’s leading online marketing company, adSage, has collaborated to establish, “Baidu-adSage joint laboratory”. The laboratory will mainly research the behavior of internet users and advertisement interactions. The research will help further improve the search marketing placement algorithms, optimize enterprises’ investments, and enhance corporates’ marketing effects. adSage is leader in China SEM industry. Prior to the join laboratory, adSage has been close partners with Baidu. Since the beginning of adSage, it strives to provide effective and efficient technologies and services for advertisers.
The laboratory’s research will cover two main areas, search engine marketing and ad network marketing. On the search engine marketing aspect, the main goal is to better keyword expansion features, helping advertisers choose accurate keywords and achieve more effective SEM results. On the ad network marketing aspect, the main goal is to help advertisers find the best way to display their ads and better ways to utilize ad networks’ coverage, helping advertisers create more opportunities for effective marketing. In the recent years, search engine usage has greatly increased in China. CNNIC released an article stating that search engines usage has covered 82% of internet users’ traffic. With that, more and more companies are starting to use search engine marketing, including many fortune 500 companies. They are increasing their SEM budgets and have invested much more time and efforts in this industry.
Through this collaboration with Baidu, the laboratory will strive to investigate the relationship between search engine marketing and ad network and their value. Moreover, the laboratory will continue to help advertisers find the best opportunities in online advertising and ultimately increase their ROI. adSage’s main analyst Frank Fu commented “up to now, standardized optimization can no longer satisfy customer’s ROI goals. We’re developing new strategies for advertising and researching new ways to improve ad performance. We are confident we will be able to make an impact in the SEM industry.”
